Tasmanian Transport Museum Society
The New Town Railway Station has been rebuilt at the museum and a new platform added. The station masters office and signal room have been retained and restored to original condition. The former ladies waiting room and store have been developed as a display of relics and photographs featuring the history of Tasmanian Railways.
Sullivan’s Cove . . .
is on the Derwent River adjacent to the CBD of Hobart, it was the site of initial settlement in the area. Today it is known as Macquarie Wharf.

Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens
Situated within the Queens Domain, the gardens cover an area of 14 hectares (34.6 acres) and were established in Hobart in 1818. The gardens hold historic plant collections and a large number of significant trees dating back to the nineteenth century.
Bruny Island
Bruny Island is part of the Huon Trail has many attractions and walks. The ferry departs from Kettering at regular intervals. You can also see Bruny Island from the water by taking BrunyIsland Charters where the Tasman Sea meets the Southern ocean.
Female Factory
The Female Factory is an historic site is located near cascade gardens and the Cascade Brewery. The majestic remains, and the importance of the site, gives the Female Factory international heritage significance.
Port Arthur
Travel the Convict Trail from Bellerive with it’s pre 1900 buildings to Richmond an original village of slate and cobbles, Australia’s oldest gaol and Australia’s first bridge, visit Old Hobart town model village, through Sorell and visit the Sorell Fruit Farm then onto EagleHawk Neck, Doo Town, Dunally where you can purchase fresh seafood, Tarana with their locally made Federation Chocolate then onto Port Arthur Historic Site, then after dark you can experience the Historic Ghost Tours where a hidden side is revealed. You can also take the Tasman Island Cruise where you will experience the highest sea cliffs in Tasmania, dolphins, seals, abundant bird species, deep caves and much more.
Huon Trail
A world of extensive and beautiful waterways, serene boutique farms and World Heritage Wilderness. A relaxing and friendly place of natural beauty just beyond Hobart, perfect for a relaxing holiday or short break. Tahune Forest AirWalk, located near Geeveston is a spectacular aerial walkway through the rainforest canopy on the banks of the Huon River.
