loved the fact that we had a guide to help us park the van... we had never come across this before since then a few other parks have the same thing, also loved the disco music in the campkitchen... fun times we will be back with no kids next time LOL

We loved Lake Maraboon park. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Even guided me to back our caravan into the site...a first for me (and they promised to do it for me if I couldn't back it myself with their help). Amenities were great and restaurant was really nice. Would love to go there again when we up in Queensland again. Sharon from Adelaide

We had the most relaxing time here. So relaxing we decided to stay an extra night. Brilliant hosts...very friendly...cabins well positioned and extremely comfortable.

the park was absolutely fabulous the amenities were spotless and so was the park. The staff were fantastic, very helpful, even helped reverse park the van which you don't see very often. The
entertainment was great and what they are doing for the angel flight is fantastic more park managers should take a leaf out of these guys book and do the same. Terrific bunch of people. The location was great and even though we were only there for a couple of days we had a great time.Next time will be longer

Our Restaurant is open;
Thursday Night for Seafood Buffet Tickets $30.00 each to be purchased from reception Start 6.00pm
Friday, Saturday & Sunday Nights between 6pm and 9pm each week.
We offer you an All you can eat buffet meal, including Soup and Dessert. Adults $20.00 children between 5yrs and 15yrs $7.50, Children under 5yrs eat FREE.
Tuesday and Wednesday Nights we have "Meals on Wheels", Restaurant style meals ordered by 5.00pm and delivered to your cabin or site after 6pm - Menu available from Reception.

Hot on the heels of the London 2012 Olympics, the festival will once again showcase our cultural diversity and the amazing breadth of talent in the Central Highlands region through mouth-watering global cuisine and dazzling dance, music and entertainment!
Date: Saturday 25 August 2012.
Time: 5.00pm – 10.00pm.
Venue: Emerald Showgrounds.

Lights, camera, action!
Showcase your talent and perform at this years' festival! We want dance ensembles and multicultural dance troupes, the best local choirs, bands and solo performers to top those seen on The Voice!
Food, glorious food!
Watching all that activity on stage makes tummies rumble so we need community groups, sporting organisations, etc, as well as commercial caterers to feed the hungry masses! Hosting a food stall is a fantastic fundraising opportunity! For cuisine ideas, talk to Kymberlee.
Get amongst it!
The festival relies heavily on an amazing crew of volunteers. In short, without their significant contribution, the festival would just not happen! When it comes to volunteers, the more, the merrier so contact Kymberlee if you are interested in joining the organising committee and/or assisting on the day.

Tuesday
Where: Restaurant Verandah
Time: 1pm
Come gather with Andy on the verandah for a craft afternoon “Stitch n Bitch” all welcome even if its just for a chat and coffee. Bring your craft and show others your talents or learn some new ones from those friends you haven't met yet. A good time is always had by all.
Afternoon tea is supplied, just bring your cup.

Wednesday
Where: Camp Kitchen
Time: 6.30pm for a 7.00pm Start
Nomad Meet & Greet Disco, (featuring 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music. Come join us in the camp kitchen for a great evening of fun.
Meat Raffles tickets on sale from 6.30pm drawn during the evening
A lite supper served around 8.15pm

GEM HUNTING
A 40 minute drive west of Discovery Holiday Parks - Lake Maraboon lie the Sapphire Gemfields, one of the richest sapphire fields on the planet and a major supplier of these precious gems to world markets. Open all year, visitors are able to fossick by any one of three ways;
* Digging at one of the nominated fossicking arears
* Buying a bucket of wash and sieving
* 'Specking' - i.e. the art of 'eyeballing' a likely stone whilst walking through the gemfields
